Q: How do I get my tortoise(s) to you?
A: Depending on your location we can have one of our volunteers drive to you to pick up the tortoise. It is not required but we do ask that if it is within your means to provide a donation so we can help compensate our volunteers for their time and gas money.
Q: How do I ship my tortoise to you?
A: This varies for each tortoise and where the tortoise is coming from so email me for specifics. I will provide step-by-step instructions and even book the shipment for you.
Q: How much does shipping cost?
A: This too varies for each circumstance, email me for specifics. All tortoises are to be shipped via priority overnight shipping, this is not cheap but it is safe and effective at transporting tortoises long distances in a short time.
Q: What will become of my tortoise once he/she is in your hands?
A: This is entirely up to you. We provide two options: re-homing and forever home. Please refer to our Rehoming page for more details.
Q: How can I donate to your rescue?
A: Donations are always very greatly needed and appreciated! Everything helps and makes it possible so we can continue to take in and care for these awesome creatures! Q: I would like to receive updates/pictures of my tortoise, is this possible?
A: Please refer to the Rehoming page for details. If you choose for us to provide your tortoise with a forever home we are more than happy to provide pictures and updates of your tortoise.
Q: How much does it cost to adopt a tortoise?
A: Adoption fees are $50 to qualified homes ONLY. Please keep in mind raising tortoises requires time and money. Lighting and other materials necessary to raise a healthy tortoises are not cheap. Please be prepared for these expenses.
Q: How can I properly care for my tortoise?
A: This is a question that can take days to answer and will differ for each species and situation. Contact me and include what species you have, the size/age of the tortoise, and how you are currently caring for and housing your tortoise and I would be more than happy to answer your questions.
Q: Can I tour your rescue?
A: We do not allow visitations or tours at our rescue. We are fortunate to have people that let us lease land on their private property so to ensure their privacy and maintain secure locations for the tortoises to live in a safe environment we like to keep our locations discreet. We are more than happy to provide pictures and updates though!
